SOC is an intuitive rules based order entry system for selecting features and options in the order entry process. SOC makes order entry quick, easy and more accurate. The new SOC for ALERE will be a noteworthy advancement over the PRO Series Accounting compatible version.  Some of the projected features will include:

• The rules for building configurations and kits will be developed using Treevision© similar to the way the ALERE chart of accounts is constructed. This will include building the Windows Explorer-like graphical structure for configurations and kits in real time. This contrasts with the present method in WorkShop and shopLink that requires a separate screen to add the components and rules.
• Configuration and kitting will be integral to the new ALERE SOC module and a separate menu option will be included for the construction of kits.
• SOC will be truly self-contained module. Neither WorkShop nor shopLink is required. However, additional capabilities are possible for users with either of these manufacturing products.
• Those using shopLink and the SOC for PRO to do only kitting will find the shopLink and the SOC for PRO to do only kitting will find the shopLink product will no longer be necessary when using SOC for ALERE. Of course, if they are using WorkShop or shopLink for manufacturing operation, those products will still be needed.

 BusinessVision soon to release Payroll module with more US features

BusinessVision is working on enhancements to their Payroll system that will make it more attractive to the US market. Some of the enhancements include more benefits and deductions as well as support for cafeteria and 401K plans. No release date has been announced, but it is expected sometime this year.
